Head Start

The Wright County Community Action (WCCA) Head Start Program provides your 3-5 year old child with a Head Start. Community based child and family development programming through the Head Start program is available to eligible households throughout Wright and Western Hennepin County.

WCCA Head Start services promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth and development of 3-5 year old children from income eligible families and for age eligible children with special needs. Activities centered around health, education, nutrition and socialization are focused on children’s growth and development in language, literacy, math, science social functioning, creative arts, physical skills, overall learning abilities and more. Parent involvement and participation is a key element to each child’s success and actively promoted in Head Start.

WCCA provides Head Start programming at centers and through a Home/Parent based model. Daily schedules at centers vary by location and include 3 ½ hour, 5 hour and extended day.
