Fiscal Director

Wright County Community Action is seeking a Fiscal Director to join our agency which has been in service to the Wright County residents since 1965. This position has the possibility to be part-time or full-time. Our office is located in Maple Lake which is located just 45 minutes west of Minneapolis, there is the potential for working remotely.

The Fiscal Director is responsible for managing all financial recordkeeping, reporting, accounting and related systems/activities of WCCA. The Fiscal Director works with the fiscal team to prepare financial procedures, financial statements for audit, financial reports, reconciles bank statements, payroll, accounts payable, inventory, requests and deposits funds, purchasing, and actively participating in program budgeting and grants management. Assures effective internal controls of funds and assets, supervises related personnel, and provides related support services to all agency programs. Assures GAAP in fiscal management by WCCA.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five or more years of experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of and experience in managing financial systems for non- profits with government grants and fund accounting.
• Ability to plan, implement, and carry out departmental and organizational financial systems and procedures.
• Experience in automated financial systems, such as THO Orion fiscal accounting systems.
• Expert level experience creating and using Excel spreadsheets.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong written, verbal communication skills and public speaking abilities are essential.
• Ability to supervise fiscal team and provide fiscal support to multiple program managers and employees.
• Ability to plan, implement, and carry out organizational policies and procedures.
• Ability to attend job related training and continuing education in field.
• Must have access to reliable transportation and a current driver’s license.
• Must attend regular day and night time meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: From $38.00 per hour

Head Start Teacher

Opening in Montrose

Wright County Community Action (WCCA) is seeking a Teacher to join our Head Start team in Montrose who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging curriculum that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. This position works 40 hours per week during the school year.

The WCCA Head Start program provides free learning and development opportunities for eligible families and their children ages 3-5 with services that promote school readiness and parent engagement, while also helping families connect to a larger community network. Through community based child and family development programming, we provide a variety of learning experiences to help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Activities focus on developing language, literacy, creativity, math and science skills, social function and more. Students and families enrolled in Head Start also receive health, dental, and nutrition services, and community resources and referrals. Head Start provides services to all children, including those with special health, developmental or nutritional needs.

This position works full-time during the school year only with benefits being available year-round for contracted staff.

Required Education and Experience:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework.
• Classroom experience as an Early Childhood Educator.
• Experience within a Head Start classroom is preferred
• Must meet State Licensing requirements for First Aid and CPR certification, Child Passenger Safety training, physical examination, and pass a MN DHS required background study.
• Experience and ability to work with Spanish speaking parents and children preferred.

• Ability to relate to and work with staff and parents.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to utilize and operate computers in child activities.
• Must be able to act as bus monitor.

Substitute Teachers implement daily activities for enrolled families and children and assist staff with daily center-based operations. Substitutes work at our Head Start Centers, located in: Annandale, Buffalo, Delano, Howard Lake, Monticello, Mound, Rogers, and Montrose.

Pay: $18.69 – $24.71/hr
