Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant serves as the front-line representative for the entire agency, providing essential administrative and client support to ensure efficient daily operations. This role requires strong communication, organization, and technology skills to greet visitors, answer calls, and connect individuals with appropriate programs and community resources. The Administrative Assistant builds rapport with a diverse client base, often using empathy and problem-solving skills to assist individuals in crisis. With a focus on confidentiality, attention to detail, and adaptability, the Administrative Assistant helps create a welcoming, organized, and responsive environment that advances the agency’s mission.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience navigating social service programs.
  • Experience working with confidential data.
  • Experience with data entry and record keeping is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and professional information sharing.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Able to use general office equipment such as copier, computer, and scanner.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prepare professional correspondence and documents.
  • Proficient in daily computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to both routine and unique tasks.
  • Demonstrate empathy and effective interpersonal skills when assisting individuals in crisis.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact by greeting visitors and callers, assessing needs, and directing individuals to appropriate programs or resources.
  • Build professional, respectful relationships with diverse clients, providing support and assistance, including helping individuals navigate community resources.
  • Support overall agency operations by staying organized, understanding program priorities, and maintaining accurate daily logs of client interactions and activities.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing documents, correspondence, research, and data entry.
  • Manage office communications and records, including collecting and distributing mail, maintaining filing systems, and handling incoming deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area and shared office spaces.
  • Operate and troubleshoot office equipment; ensure supplies are stocked and coordinate repairs or reordering as needed.
  • Demonstrate initiative, continuous improvement, and adaptability in all duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-Time. 8-16 hours per week.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Head Start Classroom Aide

Opening in Annandale.

Job Summary:

The purpose of the Classroom Aide is to assist in the implementation of program activities, including the daily routine tasks that establish the basic foundation for a healthy and safe environment for Head Start children.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or enrolled in a GED program.
  • Must be currently working toward obtaining a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), have obtained a CDA, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree. Those that are working on their Child Development Associate Credential must obtain it within 2 years of being hired.
  • Experience or ability to work with pre-school children.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to relate to and work with staff and parents.
  • Must meet State Licensing requirements for First Aid training, CPR training, Child Passenger Safety training, physical examination and Applicant Background Studies.
  • Experience/ability to work with Spanish speaking parents and children.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to utilize and operate computers in child activities.
  • Must be able to act as bus monitor.
  • Ability to relate to and work cooperatively with staff and families.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the center site is maintained in accordance with local, state and national program standards and licensing requirements
  • Follow all sanitation guidelines by washing, cleaning and sanitizing all food related surfaces, utensils and flooring
  • Empty all trash receptacles
  • Set up/tear down center equipment
  • Purchase all required groceries
  • Maintain proper storage of food and utensils
  • Serve breakfast/lunch/snack family-style to children
  • Complete all CACFP food paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain staff ratio at all times when children are present.
  • Interact with children in a positive proactive manner.
  • Conduct/assist with tooth brushing, use of restroom, and hand washing activities.
  • Assist Center Teacher with implementation and monitoring of center activities.
  • Assist with health, nutritional, and developmental observation/assessment and attendance documentation.
  • Act as a bus monitor on assigned routes.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Attend and participate in assigned job related meeting and functions including center, program and agency staff meeting and training assist in maintaining student files and computerized and manual documentation necessary to program operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-Time School Year. 14 hours per week.

Pay range: starting wage $19.25 per hour

Food Shelf Volunteer Driver

Job Summary:

The volunteer driver at Wright County Community Action (WCCA) provides multiply services for food security throughout Wright County. Our current services include Food Rescue pick-ups, Backpack deliveries, Mobile Food Shelf and Emergency Food Box deliveries. WCCA also does some home deliveries to clients who have no transportation or are disabled.

Our mission is to provide food support to low-income community members by providing food deliveries for each program.


Education and Experience:
  • Experience navigating routes in a timely manner.
  • Experience in keeping accurate records and maintaining organized files.
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making skills and resourcefulness.
  • Have good communication skills with staff and partners we deliver to.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to relate courteously and professionally, displaying a sensitive and caring attitude toward program participants, providers, staff, and volunteers by phone and in person while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to motivate people to understand the need for coordinated transportation service in our area.
  • Willingness to be assertive, tactful, use good judgment, and work as a team member in the ongoing development of Food Security Programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with community members, program staff, and Food security partners.
  • Must demonstrate the ability in daily record keeping and routine reporting.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and a current driver’s license.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, carry and lift up to 65 lbs. to provide daily duties.

Head Start Substitute Teacher

The Substitute Teacher fills in for the Head Start center-based preschool teacher and is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children and their families when their regular teacher is absent.

Associates or bachelor’s in early childhood or child development required.

Head Start centers in Annandale, Buffalo, Delano, Howard Lake, Monticello, Montrose and Otsego.

Pay: $23.47-$25.29 per hour depending on education and experience.

Head Start Substitute Assistant Teacher

The Substitute Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting center staff in providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for Head Start children and their families when regular staff are absent.

Must meet MN DCYF qualifications as an assistant teacher.

Head Start centers in Annandale, Buffalo, Delano, Howard Lake, Monticello, Montrose and Otsego.

Pay: $21.04-$22.54 per hour depending on education and experience.

Substitute Head Start Center Aide

The substitute Head Start Center Aide supports the teacher and assistant teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children when regular staff are absent. High School Diploma required.
