About the Program

For many Minnesotans, utility bills account for more than 25% of their income. Do you need support paying your electric or heating bills? WCCA is here to help!

Energy Assistance is a program that is designed to assist income eligible households with the cost of energy and heating your home, assistance is not meant to cover the costs entirely.

Everyone deserves affordable, continuous, and safe home energy services. If you encounter home heating and/or electricity difficulties, we can assist you with your bill, crisis benefits, and furnace repair/replacements (for homeowners). In addition, we can provide information about utility consumer rights and referrals to our Energy Conservation services and other community agencies.

Applications for the 2025-2026 program year will be accepted until May 31, 2026.

The next program year start date is 10/01/2026.

If you need support in the meantime, click the “Resources” button below to access available resources.

If you have exhausted your Energy Assistance benefit, additional help may be available through programs such as Crisis funds or Reach Out for Warmth. Households slightly above the income limits may also qualify for other assistance programs. Contact us to learn more.
